Creating three music video ideas for my A2 course (3)
For my final idea I have chosen to do the song by the Arctic Monkeys called Arabella. I have chosen this song to go with the theme of a band as there are many different instruments used which could work for the video. The music video for Arabella is below.
This video would keep the original look of being in the late 50's early 60's clothing and style. With my music video, the band would probably be based in a old looking set as if they were rehearsing for a gig or a band practice. The set would have, maybe, a brick background to make them a bit more urban while keeping their old look.
To help this, the characters of this music video would be wearing similar costumes to the original (clothes and hair style). This leads me to need to find the right characters for my music video and what they would be doing. I decided that my characters would be slim, tall to average height young adults.

This video would include many parts of close ups at the instruments and the microphones to emphasise the band aspect of this idea and to make the watchers feel as if they are apart of the rehearsal (music video).
The difference between my music video and the original video for Arabella is that with the original it is more about post gig and what happened afterwards whereas this would be about a gig practice/pre-gig, again, making the audience/watcher feel as if they are watching it themselves.

Below are images of set ideas for this potential music video.
Creating three music video ideas for my A2 course (2)
The post is about my second idea. This idea is based on a song by Izzy Bizu and her song White Tiger. The song and its music video are below.
After listening to this song I applied it to the area about the singer and the dancers. This was applied as I thought that with the singer being the main part and during the up beat parts of the song the dancers would do a choreographed piece.
This video would mainly be filmed using a set. An idea that I came up with for the singers set would be for it to be similar yet different that the original video and for the set to be colourful. The dancers set would be quite pale, such as all white with something to fill the set up with as well as the dancers. But it can't be too delicate as the song is quite up beat (fast) and the set has to show that.
The singer wouldn't be doing much movement as I would cut to the dances quite often to make the music video more upbeat and fun to watch, as it is a key goal to make it fun to watch and be a part of.
In this initial idea I decided to make the character and the song synthetic to the singer. I am going to show this in the video by having the camera only with the singer when she is singing. The dancers would be cut into the music video when there is a break in the lyrics and wen there is a beat. However, at the end of the song where the beat slows down there would need to be a change in pace for the dancers, for example throughout the song the dancing will be fast and exciting but at the end it will need to be slowed down.
I have decided that I would like there to be a narrative to the music video but I am not sure what to make of it, therefore I can't decide on what the story is fully going to be.

Creating three music video ideas for my A2 course
When thinking and developing my ideas for this project I needed to come up with three different videos. After contemplating what ideas were the best to use I made three main areas to fill (one for each). One being the idea that the video would focus on the visuals and images which help convey the image of the song. The second area is the idea that the video would be focused on the actual singer of the song along with dancers. The final area for the last idea is that it would be a based on a singer with a band (such as drummers).
In this post I am going to talk about my first idea. This is a song made by EMBRZ and it is called Breathe. This song doesn't include a music video as such, but it does include cover art and is shown below.
When I was listening to this song I mainly saw the idea of it showing interesting and entertaining visuals being the main aspect of the song and its music video. But along with that there would be the male signer which would be cut to when the vocals come in.
The start of the video would show a few shots (the visual aspect of the video) and then just before the lyrics start the video would cut to the singer. Between lyrics (instrumental breaks) there would be many shots and visual of *similar images to below* which would continue throughout the video. At the start of the video the singer would have little lighting, but as the song goes on there would be an increase in light on his face showing his full face at a quarter of the way through/a third of the way through the song. This it to keep the indie and electronic appearance of the song.
Some examples of the visual shots I have thought of are shown below.

Lip Syncing
Lip syncing is where an singer or actor moves their lips in a synchronised manner to the pre-recorded soundtrack in order to create the perception that they are signing or saying those words.
In starting the A2 course this aspect of music videos is one of the first pieces of information we did. My class and I looked at "All About That Bass" by Megan Trainor. We started the day being put into groups and shown three different stations where we could film. Each group had 3 or 4 people in it. One of which would be behind the camera and the rest in front.
The 3 different stations were, one, a small set with a blacked our fire place. The second was a sofa with a large green screen behind it and the final was another small set with neon lights and a bright backdrop.
After we had finished filming one of the sets we would move on to the next, until we had used all of them. At that point was where our first lesson was over and the next day we would return to edit and sync our lip reading and the music together. We did this by using the same software as last year when editing our two minute thriller sequences. However we organised our footage into groups of which set they were filmed in as that would help us navigate making the process easier and quicker for us to go ahead with.
After two lessons of working through the lip sync my partner and I (Callum Henderson) finished our lip sync. the final product is below.
