Continuing on from my blog post about my introduction to photoshop my class and I created our own digipak for a 'made up' band/artist of our choice. When starting my digipak I decided to start, straight away, thinking about what I want it to be and look like by the end of the process. This strategy came very useful in making development of the digipak simple and flowing, making it less time consuming and hesitant that other techniques.
First of all I thought of the name of my digipak, which concluded with me choosing "Journey" following with my first choice of what my background was going to be. I decided that I wanted to have a bridge looking as if it was leading somewhere). After looking on the internet I found an image which suited my mental image of the digipak very well. This was a white sandy beach with crystal clear water, clear blue skies and a tropical forest behind the beach.
After setting this picture up, using a photoshop software created by Adobe, I decided to make a contrast with real life/cartoon images and peaceful/destructive images.
When adding this in I reflected it so i could get it the same on both sides of the title (symmetrical). Then I repeated this with another image to get the same effect but more of it.
After this stage was complete I put the title in. I left this to the last as I hadn't yet decided whether I was going to put it at the bottom/top or even if the text was going to be horizontal or vertical. I came to my conclusion and this was the final result of my digipak.
